Cody Fisher, Ph.D., serves as the Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder of the AMR Strategic Coalition (ASC). He brings a deep background in biomedical science, with expertise in infectious disease, immunology, and science policy, to advance the coalition’s mission of coordinated action against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Dr. Fisher works on the Science Philanthropy Accelerator for Research and Collaboration (SPARC) team at the Milken Institute, where he advises philanthropic organizations on the development and execution of high-impact biomedical research and healthcare initiatives.
Previously, Dr. Fisher served at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE), where he co-led the Federal Task Force for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria – the U.S.'s all-of-government working group charged with developing, implementing, and reporting on the U.S. National Action Plan for AMR.
Dr. Fisher earned his Ph.D. in biomedical sciences from the Mayo Clinic, where his research focused on novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for bacterial biofilm infections.
