The Challenge

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) represents one of the most pressing threats to global health security. Resistant pathogens are spreading exponentially, undermining the effectiveness of antibiotics and other antimicrobial treatments that modern medicine depends upon. The implications extend beyond human health to encompass food security and environmental stability across the One Health spectrum.

Current challenges include:

  • Limited Resources: Fragmented funding and attention prevent comprehensive, sustained AMR interventions

  • Imbalanced Perspectives: Policy discussions often lack representation from all affected sectors—human health, animal agriculture, and environmental science

  • Coordination Gaps: Despite progress, efforts remain siloed, threatening the sustainability of gains made to date

  • Policy Vacuum: There is an urgent need for consensus-based, actionable policy recommendations that reflect the full AMR community

Without coordinated action, we risk losing our ability to perform routine surgeries, treat common infections, and maintain food production systems that rely on effective antimicrobial treatments.

The Opportunity

Established in September 2025, the AMR Strategic Coalition (ASC) unites leading U.S. experts across One Health sectors to build stakeholder consensus, amplify voices, and deliver policy solutions to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Led by trusted independent leaders with decades of combined deep federal policy, diplomacy, and scientific experience advancing AMR efforts, the ASC assembles partners to develop critical evidence-based and holistic policy postures that are reflective of the interdisciplinary AMR community in the United States.

Who We Are

Board of Directors

We are trusted independent leaders with over a decade of deep federal policy, facilitation, and scientific experience coordinating AMR efforts. Experts in leading coalitions and ensuring balance in representation and input to deliver sustained impact in the fight against AMR.

About The Board of Directors

Executive Advisory Council

ASC convenes public health, scientific, veterinary, industry, and advocacy organizations to build consensus on strategic priorities and amplify impact across the One Health spectrum. By ensuring balance in perspectives and establishing shared priorities, we will develop policy postures that are truly synergistic and reflective of the US-based community

About the Executive Advisory Council

Our Solutions

AMPLIFY

We amplify stakeholder voices through sustained collaboration, ensuring that hard-won gains in AMR response are safeguarded and that diverse perspectives influence both U.S. and global AMR efforts. By bringing together experts from human health, veterinary medicine, agriculture, and environmental science, we ensure all voices are heard in policy discussions.

SUPPORT

We support the U.S. government with open, transparent discussions and evidence-based policy solutions developed collaboratively by stakeholders across human and agricultural sciences. Our unique position as an independent coalition allows us to broker consensus where government agencies alone cannot.

COORDINATE

COORDINATE

We coordinate cross-sectoral discussions that generate consensus-based policy and actionable priorities. By facilitating dialogue between sometimes competing interests, we develop holistic solutions that serve the broader public good rather than narrow stakeholder interests.
